Meet the Pastor

Pastor Larry Carter, a native of Richmond County, Georgia was born to the late Dea. Willie and Bernice Carter. He is one of seven siblings and was educated in the Richmond County School System. Currently, Pastor Carter is attending the Andersonville Theological Seminary to further his education in the ministry. In March of 2017, Pastor Carter received his Associates Degree in Biblical Studies with great honor. During this program, he maintained a 4.0 GPA and received the distinct academic honor of Summa Cum Laude. He is working to further his education to obtain other degrees in the ministry.

He is married to Sis. Beverly S. Carter and is the father of two children; Lorenzo and Gabriella.

God led Pastor Carter to Mt. Sinai in 2003 with a purpose and a vision to lead, guide, direct and educate a body of believers. Pastor Carter came to Mt. Sinai with deep spiritual roots and a heart for the church, the city of Augusta and the surrounding areas, and its people. In 2012, Pastor Carter's obedience to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was manifested in a very blessed and historical moment in the church's history. On March 11, 2012, Pastor Carter led the Mt. Sinai Church Family from their previous location at 1458 Swanee Quintet Boulevard to the current location, 2127 MLK, Jr. Boulevard. His ministry continues with a great love for people and with dreams to reach beyond the four walls of the church, as he strives to provide moral and spiritual leadership to Mt. Sinai and the community. Pastor Carter is leading Mt. Sinai to discern God’s vision for its ministry in the 21^st century.
